Today I stopped in Toys R Us while out and about, mainly looking for the new Hatchimals blind box clip-ons. I didn't find any of those, but I did finally stumble across the exclusive Owlicorn Colleggtibles. I really don't collect the Colleggtibles, as I'm just not overly fond of them and I also have a tendency to lose tiny things, but I do like the Colleggtibles that actually are based on the same designs of the larger Hatchimals. I'm kind of obsessed with the idea of all my Hatchimals having mini-mes someday. Luckily, with the Owlicorns, it's easy to ensure you won't get doubles, based on the colors of the nests that come with them, so I was able to get the full set, and I made a little video opening them. (It's awkward because I had a lot of stuff on the bed and had a hard time setting the iPad up, and also because I'm not sure I want my face seen when this account is public, but hopefully it's somewhat enjoyable.)

So remember, if you're wanting any specific set of these, the darker blue nest matches the wave 1 Owlicorns (darker pink and blue), the aqua blue nest matches the Gittering Garden Owlicorns (aqua blue and brighter pink), and the pink nest comes with the Owlicorns that don't exist yet in large form (purple and light blue). I have a group shot here on Instagram.

Like I said in the video, I need to do a real Hatchimals update soon! The family has grown so much from the last Hatchimal post I did here about Polly-O and Cassie! I just really, really love these toys. <3

So, if you know me personally or from my previous doll journal, you know I'm a Halloween fanatic, and you probably know that every year, I go to a little in-store "party" event at Yankee Candle, premiering their Boney Bunch line, and other Halloween items, for the year. That party happens to be tomorrow, and I felt that my mini-me Violet was dressed for the occasion. (Yeah, she hasn't changed outfits since I got her, but she's not complaining. heh. I always say I'm going to prioritize doll clothes and then other stuff comes up.) I don't think I've taken any pictures of her outdoors yet either, and the weather's still beautiful (surprisingly enough) so off we went!

Pretty little skeleton-loving girl. )

I really want to start doing more with my AG dolls...And like I said, new clothes. I think Violet here is going to be my go-to doll for the October Pic-of-the-Day Challenge this year!

It's funny how I seemed to think I'd be taking more doll pictures in 2017 than ever, having this new journal and all. I swear I've wanted to, it's just that this summer has been beyond disgusting. I'm not a fan of summer by any stretch of the imagination, but this particular year, it's always either too hot and humid to breathe, or storming. There's no in-between. We finally have some nice days ahead of us, and I have some extra days off this week, so I took the opportunity today to get my Bitty Twins dolls, Ariana and Elle, outside for pictures in the summer outfits I bought them ages ago.

Double the cuteness! )

I can't wait to find fall outfits and Halloween costumes for these two, and hopefully just start doing more doll stuff in general as the weather gets nicer.

Hopefully no one's sick of my Hatchimals yet. I'm just super into them right now and they're a huge part of my motivation to post more doll/toy stuff.

First up, yesterday my boyfriend picked me up a Penguala from GameStop. He knew I was in need of one to complete my collection of every species of Hatchimal, so he grabbed it for me. I took a couple videos of it hatching this morning:

His name is Polly-O, because from the second I saw this particular Hatchimal in pictures, I've related him to the Polly-O String Cheese mascot from my childhood.

I was lucky enough to get another Hatchimal while out and about today, but this time, the experience wasn't so great.

I've definitely not been put off of ever buying another Hatchimal, as I really do love the toys just for what they are. Any more that I get in the near future will likely come from eBay though, as I'm kind of at the point where I either have or don't particularly care for one of the color options in each egg, so it'd be better to know what I'm getting.

We got a package in the mail today and Luna was very, very excited to see what, or rather who, was inside.

(This video didn't really go as planned, but I guess Hatchimals, like pets, are quite unpredictable at times.)

We're so excited that you're here, Lumi! And I wish I hadn't had to work until 8PM tonight!

Just wanted to drop by and say that I made an Instagram account for all my doll and toy stuff today. I have a personal account on there that was becoming too cluttered, and I wanted to display some of my collecting stuff on there to the public again rather than on a private account, so I thought making a new one would be the way to go. So, go forth and follow to see the random pictures I take in between posting on here!

A sort of "second wave" of Hatchimals has begun appearing in stores over the past couple of weeks, known as "Glittering Garden". I've looked for them a bit here and there while out and about, but really wasn't expecting to find one for awhile. However, today I walked into the toy section at Target, and right on an endcap were two Glittering Garden Draggles! I was super excited and scooped up the one closest to me. I've really been wanting a Draggle and have come close to buying one a few times in the past, but I really was trying to hold out for Glittering Garden because I like the color options better, and of course, I thought the glitter aspect sounded neat. I probably would've grabbed a GG Penguala too if they'd had one, but I was just super happy to find the Draggle.

I took my Wellie Wisher girls outside today, as I've been feeling kind of down and out and those dolls always put a smile on my face.

I actually was able to take pictures on the shadier side of the house for once, since none of my neighbors were out. )

I don't know what it is about the Wellies, but I just love everything about them. I really want to start buying some of their other outfits and accessories. Despite growing up with the original AG dolls, I feel like I'm just slightly more bonded to my Wellie Wishers than my traditional AG dolls. They just really bring me back to my childhood somehow.

Oh hey, remember me? Looks like I abandoned this journal for over two months. *sigh* I guess some things never change; I'd always disappear from my LJ doll journal for long periods of time too, and I actually let my old doll Tumblr account sit for so long that it now has "blog1" attached to the URL. Oh well. My last post here was right around Easter and on Easter Sunday itself, my life took yet another turn for the not-so-great, so finding the motivation to take pictures and things has been hard, as has finding the time, as always. (Sidenote: Today, since I actually had the motivation, of course my camera battery was completely, won't-even-turn-for-five-seconds dead. So any pictures you see here are from my phone today.)

Anyway, I'm sure if you were anywhere but under a rock for the 2016 holiday season, you know about the Hatchimals craze. My job actually wound up directly involved at one point, because, even though we're a grocery store that just barely has a toy section, we did get in a few Hatchimals over the course of the season (usually maybe four at a time) but some genius didn't put them live on our website until they were already long gone. So one day, we wound up with thirteen orders in the Shop From Home department just for Hatchimals, some customers planning to come from several hours away just to get one.

I was curious about them, being a toy collector and also because I was absolutely obsessed with the original Furbies when they came out in the late 90s. I was lucky enough to get one that Christmas, though they were as hard to get as the Hatchimals, if not more, thanks to my aunt's stepdaughter who worked at drug store at the time, and from the moment I got my hands on it, all I wanted was all Furby everything, for probably a good two years or so after the initial release. I had boxes full of the McDonald's toy Furbies, a Furby backpack, Furby keychains, just about every bean bag non-interactive version they made, and even eventually a second Furby and a Furby Baby. I was even going to have a Furby theme for my birthday one of those years, but the party store in town closed down before I could get the supplies. I was a bonafide Furby nut...I even had a this little figure I'd gotten from a craft fair, of a Furby next to an acorn with googly eyes, that said "Furby Nut" right on it. So needless to say, I tend to take an interest in toys that remind me of the original Furby.

I actually got two of the newer Furbies for Christmas in 2012, and I really wasn't overly impressed with them. The colors were fun and they were cuter than previous reincarnations of the Furby, more true to the original design, but I just never bonded with them in the same way. Play was largely app-based, and also, they could switch personalities based on how you played with them and what they were exposed to, and all but one of the personalities, I personally found beyond annoying. They also had no off switch and took way too many batteries. So I've been a little wary of new electronic toys since my experiences with the 2012 Furbies, but with all the talk about Hatchimals, it was hard not to be curious.

I think it's safe to say I'm progressing from a Furby nut to Hatchimal nut.

Wow, I didn't realize it's been just about two months since I last posted here. I've always been sort of inconsistent with keeping up with my "hobby" journals as opposed to my personal one, but I really didn't mean to let things go this long. I kind of lost the entire month of March to being sick, and the weather still has been iffy, but I'm hoping to be a bit more active as the spring and summer months arrive, even if it's just posting pictures talking about various collections and not actual photoshoots/pic fics.

Anyway, since Easter is on the way, today I have a few pictures of my Wellie Wishers dolls having a mini Easter egg hunt. I didn't take all that many, since my camera battery was lower than I realized, and also, it still doesn't look much like Easter/spring outside, but it still felt good to be doing dolly stuff again. My Wellie Wishers always put a smile on my face.

The perfect dolls for a spring day. )

I'm really hoping to expand the wardrobe for my AG and Wellie Wishers dolls this year. Having the Wellie stuff available in stores will probably help quite a bit, although my Target stores don't seem to be getting any of it in. I need this by Halloween time for sure. I do wish they had a few more "normal" outfit options but I suppose there's always Etsy.

I hate how absent I've been from this journal. I was so excited to create a new one and then I just kind of dropped off the face of the Earth for a bit. Winter is always a rough time because taking outdoor pictures really isn't an option, and the lighting inside has been horrible. It's always either super cloudy, or super bright from the sun reflecting off the snow.

Anyway, I know I mentioned last post that I was considering getting more of the Integrity Toys AHS Coven dolls, and since that post I've actually managed to acquire all of them that are currently available. (Fiona doesn't seem to be in stock anywhere and they keep changing her official release date.)

These pictures are from Instagram, so I apologize if you've seen them already, I just have no real way of taking "real" pictures right now.

Two witches, a voodoo queen, and a dead guy. )

I really hope Fiona is released soon so the set will be complete. And then we wait with crossed fingers in the hopes that they'll make Misty someday.

I haven't been doing as much as I'd like to be doing doll-wise lately, mostly due to the fact that, on top of my horrendous work schedule, the weather has been absolutely awful, and even inside, the constant cloudiness makes the lighting rather crappy. But there are a few things I've been wanting to share pictures of, so I'm just gonna do a sort of "new stuff dump".

Some new dolls of all sorts... )

So that's the latest in dolly goings-on. Hopefully I'll be able to do more soon. I wish spring were closer to be honest, I hate not being able to take pictures outside.

I'm still in the process of figuring Dreamwidth out, since moving my personal journal here a couple weeks ago, and I know I still need to fix this journal up, upload more icons, etc., but I'm excited for a new start in the doll/toy journaling world. My previous doll journal on LiveJournal was getting a bit cluttered, with old tags and things for dolls I don't really use anymore. I don't plan on deleting that journal just yet and not I'm sure I'll back it up here on Dreamwidth because any pictures I uploaded directly to LJ won't come over, so it seems kind of pointless, but we'll see.

Anyway, in the meantime, I'd like to introduce the newest member of my doll family.

Say hello to Flora! )

I'm not sure if I'll be going back to that TRU any time soon, unless I'm ever planning on another Truly Me doll, which, at the moment anyway, I'm really not. I am kind of wondering, though, when Felicity is re-released, if I combined one of her outfits with a blonde Truly Me doll, could I create Flora's colonial ghost friend from the show, Priscilla? Because that would be kind of awesome. (I am a total fandom trash bag, you'll learn that if you don't know me. lol)

Anyway...Hopefully more soon! I really feel so much more motivated to do things now with a new journal, and I have so many ideas in mind!
