Pic of the Day: October 24th

spookycute_dollhouseOkay, so...Today's picture is going to be...different. And I need to provide a bit of backstory.
Up until today, I've always had a doll/toy in every picture throughout the month, but today the star of the photo is going to be a Halloween decoration. Hey, it still falls under the category of things that I collect, and, after all, I created this challenge, so I can make my own rules, right?
Anyway. At the farm on Sunday, there was a display that really, really amused me and I haven't been able to get it out of my head since. Here's a picture of that:
These two ghouls really, really wanted an apple cider donut. Like I said, I have no idea why this made the impression on me that it did, but it's already one of my favorite memories of this Halloween season.
Today, I just happened to stop in at a different farm, and I found the ghoul in the black shroud for much less than what the other farm wanted for him, so, because I've been unable to get this scene out of my head, I bought him. Then I stopped at the grocery store and my mother wanted to pick up some apple cider donuts. You can probably guess where this is going, but anyway, here's today's Pic of the Day.
He finally got his apple cider donut! It's also pouring today so this picture was taken inside, but near a window. And yes, the donut is on a stick. It was the only way my hands wouldn't show and ruin the picture. I'm so weirdly excited about this picture even though it probably makes no sense to anyone but me, but oh well. I had fun and that's what matters, right?

Date: 2017-10-25 01:01 am (UTC)I'm sitting here cracking up because I can't stop imagining the ghoul saying "Oooh this donut is delectable" in a really silly, posh voice, eating it in one bite, licking all his fingers and then yelling "Give me another!" I'm afraid you might have a ghoul with an apple cider donut addiction on your hands. :P lol

Date: 2017-10-25 07:07 pm (UTC)I definitely tend to think of most of my Halloween decorations the same way I think about dolls and toys. Most of them have some sort of personality or backstory that I think of when I look at them. I've always done that, ever since I was a kid, with all our holiday decorations.
lol I could definitely see him having a much more sophisticated sounding voice than one might think! I guess it's a good thing a lot of the stores here have started selling apple cider donuts year-round!
