I know it's December 22nd and I haven't done much of anything for Christmas this year. This is honestly the least Christmas-y I've ever felt, for several reasons, but I do have a couple of new additions who inspired me to take some somewhat festive pictures,

If you've seen any of the marketing for the most recent Star Wars movie, you've probably seen Porgs. I have yet to see any of the movies from the new trilogy, but I couldn't help but fall in love with them. I recently adopted two, a male and a female, and I took a few pictures of them by the Christmas tree.

Porgs in hats! )

I have no idea if I'll find the time or energy to do anything more than this, so if I don't, Merry Christmas. I'm sorry I'm just not into it this year.

I found a really cool figure of Eleven from Stranger Things at Target today, and I felt inspired to take a few pictures of her. She also has another set of hands and accessories but I couldn't seem to snap them in place. I'll try again another time.

I've been wanting a doll from Moody Voodies for long while now. It actually was years ago that I found out about them, and I remember the dolls looking a little different, but this past year I finally found them on Instagram and started following them, and I've been waiting for the right doll to catch my eye...and stay in stock long enough for me to snatch her up, because these dolls sell wicked-fast!

Last week, I finally saw a doll that really, really spoke to me...It was kind of that magical feeling of finding "the one". I knew this was finally the Moody Voody for me! I haven't 100% decided yet, but I've been calling her "Lotus" since I saw the listing for some unknown reason, so that may stick. I'm definitely glad that I finally own a doll from this shop and couldn't be happier with my selection.

I love how melancholy and adorable she is! I hope to eventually get more dolls from Moody Voodies. They make some really cute ones based on horror movie icons. They're a bit on the pricey side but I think this girl was worth it. And anything that helps keep me in a Halloween mood is always, always good!

Maybe one day I'll post something about someone who isn't Sam again, but he's been helping me out big time with both feeling inspired/motivated to take pictures, and also my post-Halloween depression. Today I decided to take him outside as the sun was starting to go down. It wasn't quite as dusky as I initially wanted, but it was very cold out. I'm really, really happy with this batch of pictures, though.

I don't know if I've ever been so thrilled with a doll purchase in my life. I'm so, so glad that I found him. He is worth every penny that I paid for him.

I decided to take a few more pics of Sam with the outdoor decorations, while they're still up. It's been very rainy this morning so I was afraid to put him down anywhere, but I'm happy with how these turned out.

It's never too late to squeeze in some more Halloween fun! )

I honestly could take pictures of him all day every day. I'm so happy to have him.

So, October may have come and gone, but that doesn't mean we've stopped celebrating Halloween here! Halloween is every day here at the Spookycute Dollhouse, and today I got a wonderful surprise.

I'm sure everyone remembers Sam (the little guy in the icon if you've forgotten him) from the October Pic-of-the-Day Challenge. If you don't know who he is aside from just one of my dolls, he's actually a character from a Halloween-centric horror movie called Trick 'r Treat, and not surprisingly, I'm sure, one of my favorite characters ever. I look at him and just get the sense that he is Halloween.

There are a few incarnations of Sam available. Figures, a Pop figurine, handmade ones all across Etsy, and of course, the one that was featured in the OPotDC, the Living Dead Dolls version. Today though, on a random trip to the only FYE store that exists anywhere near me, I found the "Mega Scale" Sam, made by Mezco, the Living Dead Doll company, and a whopping fifteen inches tall. Of course I fell in love instantly. It's the last day of my two-week vacation, my favorite time of year is over, and I had a real bummer of a morning, so it just kind of felt like I was meant to find him. He wasn't cheap, but I think he was worth every penny he cost me.

I wanted to take a few pictures of him outside while we still have the outdoor Halloween lights up, and I had a lot of fun doing it. I love finding any excuse to celebrate Halloween!

Every day is Halloween. )

I am so, so happy with these pictures and with this new, amazing Sam. You'll probably be seeing a lot of him, I have a feeling.

I am in genuine disbelief that today is Halloween. )

As always, I'd like to thank everyone who followed along with this this year, especially [personal profile] padfootsirius for following me to a new journal platform so we could keep up our yearly tradition of doing this together.

It's really hard to believe that October is just about over and Halloween is already here, but I hope everyone has had, and is still having, lots of fun.

I really hope this is at least somewhat fun to read. I had a very, very hard time coming up with a pic-fic idea for this year so I'm still not entirely sure how I feel about this, but I'm just glad I was able to come up with something. Some of this may not make sense if you don't me from my previous journal, so I encourage checking out the 2015 and 2016 pic-fics if you're new here.

What mischief will we get into this year? )

I hope everyone's having a wonderful Halloween. I'll be back in a bit with, unbelievably, the final Pic of the Day for this year!

Some new faces! )

I really can't believe tomorrow is Halloween. I feel like I need a do-over October this year.

Just in case this nonstop rainstorm didn't suck enough, Photobucket is also being an asshole again. Even with a paid account, it's still next to impossible to use. *sigh* I am actually happy with today's picture, though.

Didn't have time for much today. )

I still have made no progress on pic-fic. Today I really just didn't have the time to think about it. I'm hoping something comes to me by tomorrow or else I may be screwed. I'd really like to know where this October went.

When the creative juices aren't flowing, we turn to fandom. )

In other news, I really have no idea what I'm going to do about a pic-fic. I wouldn't even say I have a real idea, I have a very vague concept and that's about it. How I'm going to turn that into something by next Tuesday, I really couldn't tell you. I feel like Star Lord in this clip. Except I think twelve percent is a bit more than what I have right now!

Okay, so...Today's picture is going to be...different. And I need to provide a bit of backstory.

Up until today, I've always had a doll/toy in every picture throughout the month, but today the star of the photo is going to be a Halloween decoration. Hey, it still falls under the category of things that I collect, and, after all, I created this challenge, so I can make my own rules, right?

Anyway. At the farm on Sunday, there was a display that really, really amused me and I haven't been able to get it out of my head since. Here's a picture of that:

 photo IMG_5244_zpsp7ivczff.jpg

These two ghouls really, really wanted an apple cider donut. Like I said, I have no idea why this made the impression on me that it did, but it's already one of my favorite memories of this Halloween season.

Today, I just happened to stop in at a different farm, and I found the ghoul in the black shroud for much less than what the other farm wanted for him, so, because I've been unable to get this scene out of my head, I bought him. Then I stopped at the grocery store and my mother wanted to pick up some apple cider donuts. You can probably guess where this is going, but anyway, here's today's Pic of the Day.

Happy ghouls, happy life. )
